BYODJ Night is a queer-friendly, BIPOC-welcoming, inclusive space. when the whole room votes, no single person decides who gets 2 hear their music 2nite. that's the reason we built it this way ♡
what this means
in practice ♡b4 any night happens, we talk w/ the host venue or org about what we both expect: safety, accessibility + who the night is 4. if we're off on those, we don't move forward 2gether. 1. we only partner w/ venues that r genuinely welcoming. we have that convo b4 anything is booked. 2. hosts + venues hold the room during the night + have full authority 2 step in if something goes wrong. we set the expectations, they hold the room. 3. we prioritize LGBTQ+ orgs, BIPOC-led orgs + community groups whose values match ours. 4. if something felt off, we wanna hear about it. tell us below + we'll follow up within 24-48 hrs. some of our infrastructure is still being built. what we can do rn is follow up when something goes wrong. - byodj night xoxo
